Have you ever heard, or perhaps had someone say to you that you should just stop hiding away and start showing up?
How annoying can that be to hear, especially when you are aware of the judgements attached?
What if stopping hiding and showing up as more of you, wasn’t meant as an invalidation of everything that you have been and done so far in your life, yet more of an invitation to actually show up, even more so, as yourself?
How often do we not choose to show up because we are avoiding other people’s judgements, which actually have nothing to do with you and everything to do with what is going on for them.
Why validation isn’t as good as you think it is?
Validation is something that most of us have sought at some point in our lives, especially as children wanting to be acknowledged and recognised for doing something well.
How often do we actually carry that throughout our lives, whether in the workplace wanting to be told that we have done a great job or desiring validation from our partners within our relationships?
Quite often when we don’t receive the validation or the approval or recognition that we have been seeking, we can become frustrated or angry and feelings of resentment can begin to show up, creating disharmony for ourselves and in our lives.
Have you ever had the point of view that you have to do everything? Have you ever realised how much in your business and in your life, that you have to get it all done and that you have to be there to create and do everything for everyone all on your own?
We are so used to thinking that we are alone in this world, even when we are surrounded by people, friends, amazing family and yet still have the sense that we are alone in whatever we are creating in our life and that we have to be the source for everything and everyone.
What if that isn’t really true?
“They won’t let me…”
“I don’t have the time…”
“I have so many other things to do right now…”
“I don’t have the money yet…”
“I’m not at my ideal weight…”
“I’m not quite confident enough…”
“I’ll just watch one more episode of Game of Thrones first…”
Does this sound like something you’ve ever done or thought to yourself?..
